On this episode of the Talk Nerdy Show we try to hash out the planning meeting that happened that brought us the fiasco that was the superbowl halftime show. We also have a bit of news concerning reportedly “unknown” XBox Live purchases, debate preferred comic book format in the growing popularity of digital download, and get our, ever the nerdiest, rant on about tanks and why we love, hate, and love to hate them in this week’s Less QQ segment of the show!
Don’t forget to check out Ryan’s weekly blog, Wednesday of Warcraft, posted every Wednesday!

EDIT: Ryan here, just wanted to apologize for the quality of this episode, we tried recording on a different computer and had some technical difficulties throughout the episode. We apologize, but please, try to enjoy.

Adrianne Palicki Cast as WONDER WOMAN

Adrianne Palicki has been tapped to star as the title character in the pilot for NBC’s new “Wonder Woman.”

The series pilot is a reinvention of the iconic DC Comics title in which Wonder Woman – a/k/a Diana Prince – is a vigilante crime fighter in Los Angeles but also a successful corporate executive and a modern woman trying to balance all of the elements of her extraordinary life.

New Thor Trailer

Check out this new trailer for Thor. In this trailer not only do you get to see more of Thor, um well acting like Thor, but you also get more shots of Loki and The Destroyer Armor. This movie is going to be bad ass and I can't wait to see it. "FOR ASGARD!!!!!!!!!!!"

The Amazing Spider-Man

The title for Marc Webb's new take on the Spider-Man franchise has officially been revealed by Sony and Columbia Pictures -- The Amazing Spider-Man. Additionally, an all-new high-res pic (see it in full below) was released with the announcement depicting Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man completely decked-out in his Spidey-suit, mask and all. Despite a more modern approach to the costume, it certainly does appear that Webb is going down more of a comic-faithful route. Starting with a title that has a deep tradition in Spider-Man lore, the casting of Emma Stone as the Wall-Crawler's first real love in Gwen Stacy, we now see another purist element in this film -- web-shooters!

First Trailer for the Upcoming Movie Tie-in Game GREEN LANTERN: RISE OF THE MANHUNTERS

The Manhunters are an android race, originally created by the Guardians of the Universe to serve as the first interstellar police force. The Manhunters became more obsessed with administering punishment than serving justice, forcing the Guardians to dissolve their ranks. The few Manhunters that survived fled into exile and the Guardians founded a new elite police force called the Green Lantern Corps and armed its members with specially crafted power rings. Now the Manhunters are back and out for revenge, readying their forces for a war against the Guardians and the Green Lantern Corps. Faced with destruction, the Corps is looking to you as the newest recruit, gifted but cocky test pilot Hal Jordon, to protect peace and preserve justice. Building on the anticipation of Warner Bros.' feature film Green Lantern, in theaters June 17, 2011, Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters includes the likeness and voice talent of Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan, who is the star of the upcoming motion picture.

Marvel hires screenwriters to write CAPTAIN AMERICA Sequel

The Joe Johnston directed Marvel film Captain America: The First Avenger doesn't come out until July 22nd, but apparently Marvel has gone ahead and hired Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus to write the script for the sequel to Captian. This is the same writing team that wrote the first Captain America.

There's no infomation of what the sequel will be about, but since the first movie takes place during World War II, the sequel will obviously be set in the present day. We could very well see a Captain America 2 hit theaters in 2013.

Talk about jumping the gun. Did Marvel even watch the so called "trailer" that was aired during the Super Bowl? If that is any indication what the movie will be like, then they would probably be better off writing a reboot as opposed to a sequel, because man that "trailer" (again I use the term loosely) looked aweful!!!!!! Well, here's hoping that the movie will be good, but I am not going to hold my breath.

X-Men: First Class Trailer

20th Century Fox has released the first movie trailer for Matthew Vaughn‘s X-Men: First Class on Facebook. Based on a story by original X-Men director Bryan Singer, the new film is a Casino Royale-style prequel/reboot of the comic book movie series. The story “charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events.” This first trailer gives a much better idea of what we can expect from this film. And it seems like it should calm fans worried that we wouldn’t see much mutant action.
X-MEN FIRST CLASS charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to prevent nuclear Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.

DC Announces BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY Tie-In Series

Today, DC Comics announced a six-issue miniseries tie-in with BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY, the sequel to the critically acclaimed video game BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM.

The series will be written by ARKHAM ASYLUM and ARKHAM CITY writer Paul Dini with pencils by the games' concept artist, Carlos D'anda. The story is set one year after the events of ARKHAM ASYLUM, and is designed to bridge the gap between the original game and the sequel:
BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY picks up one year after the original game, where former Arkham Warden turned newly elected Mayor of Gotham City Quincy Sharp has decided to close down the infamous institution. In its stead, he establishes “Arkham City,” the new maximum security “home” for all of Gotham City’s thugs, gangsters and insane criminal masterminds. Set inside the heavily fortified walls of a sprawling district in the heart of Gotham City, inmates can roam free and do whatever they want as long as they don’t try to escape. To run this urban prison, Sharp has appointed Dr. Hugo Strange, a man who knows that Bruce Wayne is Batman.
Issues 1 and 2 of the ARKHAM CITY miniseries will be available in May.
