New "Young Justice," "Green Lantern: The Animated Series" Episodes For March 2012

Both Young Justice and Green Lantern: The Animated Series are slated to return March 2012 to Cartoon Network with new episodes after a substantial absence from the schedule. Cartoon Network has provided the schedule details.

New episodes of Young Justice will return to Cartoon Network as of the first weekend of March 2012, with new Green Lantern: The Animated Series episodes to follow later in the same month. According to schedule details released by Cartoon Network, both Young Justice and Green Lantern: The Animated Series will move to new Saturday morning timeslots starting March 3rd, 2012. Green Lantern: The Animated Series will air at 10:00am (ET, PT) on Saturday mornings, with Young Justice airing immediately afterwards at 10:30am (ET, PT).

Schedule details released by Cartoon Network are unable to confirm whether the DC Nation programming block also debuts on March 3rd, 2012, though an official announcement is expected within the next two - three weeks.

Detailed Synopsis for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Revealed

"The Amazing Spider-Man" is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay written by James Vanderbilt, based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Laura Ziskin, Avi Arad, and Matt Tolmach are producing the film in association with Marvel Entertainment for Columbia Pictures, which will open in theaters everywhere in 3D on July 3, 2012.

Blizzard Cancels BlizzCon 2012

Yesterday Blizzard announced that they won't be holding a BlizzCon in 2012. It seems that they're too busy trying to finish up their upcoming games.

The news about BlizzCon was tucked into an announcement about the 2012 Battle.net World Championship. The eSports event, featuring World of Warcraft Arena and StarCraft II tournaments, will be held in Asia in late 2012.

"We’re excited to be showcasing Blizzard eSports on a truly global stage this year. We're also heavily focused on getting Diablo III, [World of Warcraft expansion] Mists of Pandaria, and [Starcraft II expansion] Heart of the Swarm into players’ hands as soon as possible. In light of our jam-packed schedule, we’ve decided to hold the next BlizzCon in 2013."

"Yeah it's a bit disappointing because we all really do enjoy being able to 'open the doors' so to speak," said community manager 'Bashiok' on the Battle.net forums. "But, it is an enormous effort by all employees, including our game designers and artists, not to mention customer support and quality assurance, PR, our business departments, and *hot breath on fingernails & shirt rub* Community & eSports to make a BlizzCon happen."

"In a year when we're working to release multiple titles (knock on wood) it makes sense to focus our efforts. Also with multiple game releases we just wonder if we'd be at a point with any of them where we'd have anything really big or new or cool to talk about."

Blizzard also has at least three other projects occupying their time. They're creating a strategy game called Blizzard DOTA as well as a new MMO codenamed "Titan." StarCraft II is also slated to receive a second expansion called Legacy of the Void.

Character Descriptions for the CW's GREEN ARROW Pilot Leaks Online

A pilot episode for the newly proposed Green Arrow series from Green Lantern scribes Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim has been ordered by the CW, home to long running Superman show Smallville. Based on the comic brand's emerald archer who dresses like Robin Hood and utilizes trick arrows with various special functions to deal out vigilante justice that conforms with his left-wing, ultra-democratic principles. Green Lantern movie screenwriters Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim are on board as executive producers/writers for the planned series. Berlanti and his production company are also behind two of the aforementioned DC TV properties currently being developed. In 2006, Justin Hartley began portraying the character on Smallville and eventually starred in over 70 episodes; he will not star in the new show, which is currently titled Arrow.

Today, descriptions of the central characters who are currently being cast for the series made their way online:

OLIVER QUEEN - A 27 year old reformed bad boy, who after having spent five years shipwrecked on a tiny, brutally dangerous island in the South China Sea returns to town a different man. Or to be more specific, a tortured, thoughtful master of the bow with a ferocious determination to make a difference.

DINAH “LAUREL” LANCE - 28 years old, smart sexy, Laurel is a legal aid attorney determined to use her life as a one-woman war against the 1% following the death of her younger sister Sara. A sister, who as luck would have it, just so happened to have died aboard Oliver’s yacht.

TOMMY MERLYN - What They’re Looking For: 28 years old and devil-smooth, Tommy is a trustafarian like Oliver, a spectacularly rich young man whose life revolves around parties, clubs, liquor and lots of anonymous sex. Unlike Oliver, he can’t seem to understand his former best friend’s sudden change of lifestyle and direction.

MOIRA QUEEN - 48 years old, a beautiful woman, Oliver’s mother Moira is a very wealthy woman who is not used to being shaken. Having remarried during the five years that former husband Robert and Oliver were both presumed dead, Moira has had free rein over the Queen billions. Not surprisingly, she’s deeply interested in learning whether or not Robert will also return unexpectedly, to ruin her present marriage and go over the books with a fine-tooth comb.

JOHN DIGGLE - 35 years old, African-American, Diggle is really, really big, a former military man who served with the Army Rangers in Afghanistan, and has been a bodyguard for hire for the last four years. Hired by Moira to be Oliver’s chauffeur and protector, Diggle soon finds he is trapped in a battle of wits, as Oliver repeatedly eludes his protection. But in fact, Diggle’s primary conflict is one of loyalty — he has to show that he’s working for Oliver, not Moira, before Oliver will give him a smidgen of trust.

THEA QUEEN - 17 years old (suggest 17-22 years), Oliver’s Lolita-esque sister, Thea was a 12 year old girl when he went on his infamous yachting voyage — but now she’s a celebutante who’s testing the boundaries of acceptable behavior. Thea loved her big brother with all her heart, and is delighted to have him back in her life — but she’s spreading her wings, and is unprepared for Oliver to become the Bad Cop in the family, restricting her access to boys and drugs.

Resident Evil 6 Trailer

Capcom released the Resident Evil 6 reveal trailer, confirming Leon and Chris, as well as a number of new characters.

Occurring 10 years after the events of the original game, Leon’s story is centered around Tall Oaks, a city similar to Raccoon City that succumbs to a T-virus outbreak. Chris’ story takes place in China, while a third storyline revolves around an unidentified new character and Resident Evil 4′s Ashley Graham.

Resident Evil 6 has been given a release date of November 20, 2012.

GEEQ'S BAND OF THE WEEQ!!! 1-22-12

The Electric Mayhem (from top to bottom): Animal, Dr. Teeth, Floyd, Janice, and Zoot

Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem are the house band on The Muppet Show. They mostly stick to rock music, but they're capable of playing other styles, including jazz and (unwillingly) classical. Although Dr. Teeth is the leader, he is not the only one to provide lead vocals. Floyd Pepper is often a lead singer on songs, and Janice is lead singer on a handful of songs. I have to say they are probably quite arguably the greatest puppet band of all time.
