THE AVENGERS Gets a Second Full-Length Trailer

The upcoming ensemble superhero film scheduled to hit theaters in May 2012 will feature Robert Downey, Jr. (Iron Man, Iron Man 2) returning as Tony Stark/Iron Man along with Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America and the rest of Marvel's famous team.

Cowboy Ninja Viking Lands a Director!

Universal Pictures and director Marc Forster have just acquired the rights to adapt the AJ Lieberman graphic novel Cowboy Ninja Viking.

Synopsis:

Cowboy Ninja Viking revolves around a counter-intelligence unit of Multiple Personality Disorder patients, formed by psychotherapist Dr. Sebastian Ghislain, who are transformed into agents/assassins known as Triplets (referring to the three different personalities inside their minds). The main character in the story is Duncan, a Triplet who channels the skills of a Cowboy, Ninja, and Viking. During an operation in Iraq, things go awry and most of the agents are sent back to the insane asylum, but Duncan manages to escape and sets his sights on the billionaire mastermind who put him behind bars.

JOE: RISE OF THE COBRA, which grossed over $300M worldwide, Paramount Pictures, MGM and Skydance Productions, in association with HASBRO and di Bonaventura Pictures, commences production on G.I. JOE: RETALIATION. In this sequel, the G.I. Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy Cobra; they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence. Paramount Pictures has scheduled the film to hit theaters June 29th, 2012

The Avengers Gets a New Title?

As you can see on the poster above, it appears that Marvel’s 'The Avengers' may have been renamed to Marvel’s 'Avengers Assemble'. Now according to Total Film, this is an UK exclusive title and it will still be called 'The Avengers' here in the US. The movie directed by Joss Whedon is scheduled to hit UK cinemas on April 26 and on May 4th in the US.

DC Reveals EARTH 2 Character Design of Robin

DC has rolled out another character design from the New 52 "Second Wave" parallel earth of May's Earth 2 and Worlds' Finest, who just happens to be 'Robin', a.k.a. Helena Wayne, daughter of millionaire Bruce Wayne, a.k.a 'Batman'

“Helena Wayne has been taught how to be the perfect Robin,” said James Robinson, writer of EARTH 2. “Assured as a detective, fighter, scientist, pilot and all around crime-fighter she’s been groomed by Batman to be the perfect caped manhunter (or should we say manHuntress) when she grows up.”

“Before coming to the main DCU Earth and taking up the mantle of Huntress, Helena Wayne fought crime alongside her father as the Robin to his Batman on Earth-2!” said WORLDS’ FINEST editor Wil Moss. “But how did she come to be on this Earth? And why did she decide to become Huntress? You’ll get some clues in next week’s HUNTRESS #6, but for the real scoop, pick up WORLDS’ FINEST #1!”

Diesel reprises his role as the antihero Riddick, a dangerous, escaped convict wanted by every bounty hunter in the known galaxy.

Darth Maul Returns in Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 4

Season four of Star Wars: The Clone Wars is set to return with a two-part mid-season premiere starting with "Brothers" on Friday, March 9th at 8 p.m. (ET/PT) followed by "Revenge" on March 16th on Cartoon Network.

After being used as a weapon of vengeance by Count Dooku and Asajj Ventress, the dark warrior Savage Opress embarked on a galaxy-spanning quest to find his long-lost brother, the legendary Darth Maul. Maul lives in the depths of a ruined world as a shattered madman barely held together by dreams of vengeance. Savage conspires with the scheming witch Mother Talzin to heal Darth Maul's body and mind, so that the brothers can begin a new crusade of vengeance against the Jedi.

THE WALKING DEAD Casts David Morrissey as The Governor

AMC announced yesterday that David Morrissey (State of Play, Meadowlands, The Deal and Blackpool) has been cast in the role of The Governor in the networks' critically acclaimed hit series, The Walking Dead. The Governor, a character from Robert Kirkman's graphic novel, is the leader of Woodbury, a small settlement of survivors, and becomes the chief antagonist for Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his group.

The Governor will appear in The Walking Dead season three, a 16-episode order from AMC, which begins production this spring in Atlanta.

The Walking Dead stars Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden, Jeffrey DeMunn, Steven Yeun, Chandler Riggs and Norman Reedus. AMC's Emmy Award-winning horror drama, based on the acclaimed comic book series by Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard, airs Sunday nights at 9/8c.

WRATH OF THE TITANS Trailer #2

A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus—the demigod son of Zeus—is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year old son, Helius.

Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity's lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades and Poseidon. First Look at Batgirl, Supergirl & Wondergirl in DC's New Animated Series SUPER BEST FRIENDS FOREVER

The series of shorts - which are developed by Lauren Faust ( Powerpuff Girls, My Little Pony) -- will air as a part of DC Nation, a TV and online programming that will showcase DC's expansive library of characters.

Faust recently revealed that there will be five, one minute and fifteen second episodes of SBBF during the first season run of DC Nation (which begins on March 3rd). She went on to explain her motivation creating this series and how it is akin to her previous ones:

"I've been a comics fan my whole life. So I took what I knew of the history of Batgirl and Supergirl and Wondergirl. I just wanted to put together a superteam with the attitude of, 'It's fun to be a superhero.' And taking a real approach, a fun and funny approach to what it's like to be a teenage girl, and mixing that up with a superhero [story.]

"It's been my personal lifelong career ambition to make great entertainment for girls, and about girls. And you know, when it's really good, I think it transcends gender, and people other than girls will watch that. And we've seen a little bit of evidence for that with the fanbase for My Little Pony — the really surprising fanbase for My Little Pony.

"It's a goal of mine, because I don't think there's enough out there for girls, and when things are aimed towards girls... a lot of it just turns into poor quality stuff, and I think it's people being a little too precious about what's appropriate for girls or being a little short-sighted about what girl's interests are. I want to change that, and I want there to be stuff for girls on TV and in the movies that they like and that they're proud to like, and that they don't stop watching by the time they turn seven. So I would like to continue on that path. It's my goal, it's always been my dream. I think I might have put a little bit of a dent in the perception of what girls' entertainment is. I'd like to keep it going, and I hope that other women in animation and in comics can take up the mantle and start getting a little bit of movement — and start getting a little bit of faith from the people in charge."
