Twenty-plus weeks after we started this journey, we’ve arrived at our landmark 10th episode. After our first episode, we honestly thought we’d be lucky to have 10 listeners – and instead, we’ve gathered around us a group of friends that also happen to listen to our show. We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again – we do this show for you guys, and thank you truly for continuing to listen and support us.
Okay, now that the sappy stuff is out of the way…
We’ve got news! The ultimate Mad Titan has been fully spoiled, we’ve got new ATA’s from Chaos War, some interesting – if vague – information from the latest Clix-A-Thon, all capped off with some preview images from the Batman set thanks to Game Trade Magazine – including the greatest hero you’ve never heard of.
Previews this week include an insane industrialist with a penchant for orange explosives, a futurist who decided that we don’t need no stinkin’ gauntlets, and a one-eyed assassin who likes to get stabby stabby stabby. Common Justice this week brings us a member of the Brotherhood, Excalibur, and the New Mutants who can talk to computers, as well as a king returned. Our $3 theme teams bring you the eternal struggle between Politicians and Rulers.
Finally, and while the dials aren’t up yet – they will be this week – our contest results!! We had 20+ submissions into our Drunk Dial contest, each being incredibly creative and well thought out. One in particular caught our eyes as our winner, but all were fun and smart.
One of the dials submitted features a character called The Cat! He’s based on a YouTube webseries, and it’s a heck of a lot of fun. Check it out!
Our introduction song is "616", produced by Vincent Vandal, performed by Adam Warrock off the album "You Dare Call That Thing Human?" The outro is "The View From Eternity", produced by Ruckus Roboticus, performed by Adam Warrock off the album "The War For Infinity."
You can contact the show in the following ways: pushtoregen@gmail.com, @pushtoregen on Twitter, or by posting a comment about the episode you just listened to, either on the Podbean site - http://pushtoregen.podbean.com, or feel free to leave us a rating and a review on iTunes! Christopher Nolan's Goodbye Letter to the Batman Film Franchise
It the recently released "The Art & Making of The Dark Knight Trilogy" book Chris Nolan reflects on the importance of his three Batman films to his life and says his formal goodbye to them. Here is what he wrote:
"Alfred. Gordon. Lucius. Bruce . . . Wayne. Names that have come to mean so much to me. Today, I’m three weeks from saying a final good-bye to these characters and their world. It’s my son’s ninth birthday. He was born as the Tumbler was being glued together in my garage from random parts of model kits. Much time, many changes. A shift from sets where some gunplay or a helicopter were extraordinary events to working days where crowds of extras, building demolitions, or mayhem thousands of feet in the air have become familiar.
"People ask if we’d always planned a trilogy. This is like being asked whether you had planned on growing up, getting married, having kids. The answer is complicated. When David and I first started cracking open Bruce’s story, we flirted with what might come after, then backed away, not wanting to look too deep into the future. I didn’t want to know everything that Bruce couldn’t; I wanted to live it with him. I told David and Jonah to put everything they knew into each film as we made it. The entire cast and crew put all they had into the first film. Nothing held back. Nothing saved for next time. They built an entire city. Then Christian and Michael and Gary and Morgan and Liam and Cillian started living in it. Christian bit off a big chunk of Bruce Wayne’s life and made it utterly compelling. He took us into a pop icon’s mind and never let us notice for an instant the fanciful nature of Bruce’s methods.
"I never thought we’d do a second—how many good sequels are there? Why roll those dice? But once I knew where it would take Bruce, and when I started to see glimpses of the antagonist, it became essential. We re-assembled the team and went back to Gotham. It had changed in three years. Bigger. More real. More modern. And a new force of chaos was coming to the fore. The ultimate scary clown, as brought to terrifying life by Heath. We’d held nothing back, but there were things we hadn’t been able to do the first time out—a Batsuit with a flexible neck, shooting on Imax. And things we’d chickened out on—destroying the Batmobile, burning up the villain’s blood money to show a complete disregard for conventional motivation. We took the supposed security of a sequel as license to throw caution to the wind and headed for the darkest corners of Gotham.
"I never thought we’d do a third—are there any great second sequels? But I kept wondering about the end of Bruce’s journey, and once David and I discovered it, I had to see it for myself. We had come back to what we had barely dared whisper about in those first days in my garage. We had been making a trilogy. I called everyone back together for another tour of Gotham. Four years later, it was still there. It even seemed a little cleaner, a little more polished. Wayne Manor had been rebuilt. Familiar faces were back—a little older, a little wiser . . . but not all was as it seemed.
"Gotham was rotting away at its foundations. A new evil bubbling up from beneath. Bruce had thought Batman was not needed anymore, but Bruce was wrong, just as I had been wrong. The Batman had to come back. I suppose he always will.
"Michael, Morgan, Gary, Cillian, Liam, Heath, Christian . . . Bale. Names that have come to mean so much to me. My time in Gotham, looking after one of the greatest and most enduring figures in pop culture, has been the most challenging and rewarding experience a filmmaker could hope for. I will miss the Batman. I like to think that he’ll miss me, but he’s never been particularly sentimental."
- Christopher Nolan

IRON MAN 3 Set Photos
Iron Man 3 is loosely based on Warren Ellis' six-issue "Extremis" comic book story arc which focuses on the spread of a virus through nanotechnology that eventually causes Tony Stark to engineer a new suit that is integrated directly into his body. The Mandarin, a terrorist villain and leader of the 10 Rings organization featured in the first two films, will finally make his entrance into the franchise.
Filming is currently underway in Wilmington, North Carolina, and a few new set photos have recently made their way online showing a scene where Iron Man rescues a group of people mid-flight.

All joking aside - happy Chaos War release episode! The guys focus pretty heavily on the newest edition to the HeroClix family, and talk about their favorite pieces, trends we've seen from the figures, and what they're on the lookout for in upcoming sealed events.
There's also some news about the upcoming Batman set and the No Mans Land event, as well as the now fully spoiled (and possibly released, we're still fuzzy on that detail) Star Trek Away Team set.
Common Justice this week features a cargo short wearing physician, and an intangible time traveling Young Avenger, while our $3 theme teams thematically fight on one of the new Chaos War maps, the Negative Zone Prison.
All that, plus Tweets, Emails, Reddit comments (check out the HeroClix Sub-Reddit!), 'Realms messages, and Facebook posts, Nate's Question of the Week - and A CONTEST!
To participate in the contest, you'll be creating your own Drunk Dial! Here's the catch - it has to be an unclixed figure. It can be from anything - your neighbors cat, Animal House, World of Warcraft - as long as the figure is balanced, playable, and accurate. And don't think we'll just be picking all wibbly-wobbly here, we're going to do research! The prize - and there's only ONE prize this time, sorry - will be big! You'll receive both maps from the Chaos War and Galactic Guardians OP kits, the 'Newer Fantastic Four' Wolverine LE from Galactic Guardians, the Nova Helmet special object from Galactic Guardians, the Cosmic Cube special object from Galactic Guardians, the Future Foundation Spider-Man from Chaos War, the Briefcase Armor special object from Chaos War, and the first 3D Ultra Heavy object from Chaos War, the Tank Turret! Anything later and we'll already be recording, and at that point, the judging is closed! Good luck!!
